Web Synergies (S) Pte Ltd participates
for the first time to the Call for Collaboration (CFC) organized
by Singapore Infocomm Development Authority (IDA).
Web Synergies is pleased to announce that
in the course of the last 30 days, the company has participated
to the last two Calls for Collaboration (CFCs) organized
by IDA (www.ida.gov.sg),
namely:
- Location-Based-Services and
- Smart Airport and Passenger Travel
IDA's Calls for Collaboration encourage collaborative
efforts between industry members in specific areas such as
mobilecommerce, location-based service, wireless multimedia
and most recently, aggregation of ASPs. IDA issues Calls for
Collaboration and co-funds those proposed projects that will
have a marked impact on Singapore's infocomm sector.
This effort, lead internally by Jean-Jacques
Lavigne as Project Manager and M.P Subramanian as Technical
Project Leader, helped the company to rise to another level
in terms of solution and business development as well as largely
contributing to the company adoption of new technologies.
For its Location-Based-Services, Web
Synergies lead a Consortium made of three other partners,
WhereSoft Geocommerce (www.wheresoft.com)
, a regional leader in digital maps applications, Asia-City
Publishing Pte Ltd, a leader in Lifestyle and Tourism
content delivery and finally, RoseAnderssen Pte Ltd,
the sole distributor of BENEFON mobile phones and GSM + GPS
Telematic Instruments.
Together, the Consortium crafted a business proposition
aiming at delivering GPS-driven added-value services
to tourists visiting Singapore. GPS (Global Positioning System)
technology was chosen by the consortium over GPRS technology
for its better location accuracy (10 to 15 meters against
150 to 200 meters for GPRS) and much cheaper usage cost.
Though details of the proposal cannot be disclosed
at this stage, Web Synergies is confident that GPS applications
for mobile consumers will be a common reality within the next
3 to 4 years. As such, Web Synergies is already developing
a strong market and technology expertise and can already guide
companies interested in this area in designing sharp, pertinent
and cost-effective solution.
For the Smart Airport and Passenger Travel, Web
Synergies' Enterprise Synergies pushed the envelope a bit
further by submitting two proposals to IDA and Singapore
Civil Aviation Authority (CAAS), the organizer of the
CFC.
In both cases, Web Synergies/Enterprise Synergies
partnered with Mil-Com Igniters!, a subsidiary of the
Mil-Com Group (www.milcomhq.com),
one of Singapore's fastest rising companies. The Mil-Com Group
provides a wide range of services ranging from aerospace training
to aircraft maintenance services, from manufacturing of precision
aerospace components to smart technology solutions. Mil-Com
Igniters! focuses on communication and public relation solutions.
The proposed solutions capitalize on Web Synergies/Enterprise
Synergies strength in software development and integration,
3D and Virtual Reality expertise and on Mil-Com's smart cards
technology and know-how. Altogether, these proposals perfectly
illustrate Web Synergies/Enterprise Synergies commitments
to increase the value add it brings, as Jean-Jacques Lavigne,
Regional Marketing Manager and CFC Project Leader testifies:"
As a vendor, we can always limit ourselves to what the client
wants. Delivering what the client wants is already very satisfying
and not that easy. But, with increasing competition, the difference
is now made by how much value add the vendor can bring, how
much knowledge and insight he can bring to the client, how
much the vendor can think outside the box and deliver on these
promises". Jean-Jacques adds: "These CFCs are a good exercise
for us as, with our partner, we looked at the technology that
we have currently in our hands, looked at what the aviation
and travel industries may need and came up with business ideas
that can create a new industry, or at least radically modify
and improve existing ones."
