British High Commission Photo Competition
The competition, aimed at the youth of Singapore (15 - 30) using high technology allows submission of entries using on-line or MMS. The competition was officially launched at the Ministry of Sound on 20th January, 3pm and will be open from 20th January to 26th February. The competition website, maintained by Web Synergies, serves as the platform for youth to participate in the photo competition. A well-known panel of judges, including Minister Mah Bow Tan, Minister of National Development, and Russel Wong and Gerald Gay, two of Singapore's most acclaimed photographers, will select the best images for the big prize.
The winner of the best picture gets a trip down to London. Winning entries will also be exhibited at the Singapore National Library, as well as get displayed at the Royal Commonwealth Society Headquarters in London. The winners will be announced on 13 March 2006.The first prize is 1 pair of air tickets to London, courtesy of British Airways, PLUS 4 nights accommodation for two (twin sharing) and 2 complimentary British Heritage passes to London's most famous attractions, courtesy of VisitBritain.
The theme of the 2006 Commonwealth is Health & Vitality with special emphasis on youth, sport, environment, science & innovation. Participants are advised to retain original image file to enable good quality printing.
