Singapore Youth Commonwealth Photo Competition

Singapore Youth Commonwealth Photo Competition website was setup to find the best images taken with a digital camera or mobile phone (MMS). Web Synergies were the proud Media Partner in this project and has provided a total end-to-end solution. Our team was working closely in this project from an early infancy stage till the final 50 and winner selection process.

The theme of the photo competition was to express and interpret the 2006 Commonwealth themes of Health & Vitality - The Commonwealth Challenge with special emphasis on youth, sport, environment, science & innovation.

We worked through a tight schedule to meet the project deadline of setting up the website in 4 weeks. We put in three (3) resources with 14 hours schedule to build the photo engine and the backend ranking engine for judges to vote. The project team sacrificed Christmas and New Year holiday period to help build a user friendly website in time.

At their end, there were 3,300 plus photo entries. Backend was able to cope with the last minute uploading by enthusiastic participants, an estimated 2,000 photos were uploaded in last two three days of the deadline. Our team showed great commitment and character to support the BHC team during the last minute rush.
