Tuesday, October 20, 2003:
Invente announced Thursday 16th that it has launched
SportsKaki.com , a community portal catering for sports athletes.
This portal, developed by Enterprise Synergies,
Web Synergies’ enterprise solutions department,
is specially built to cater to all sports enthusiasts
looking to improve their game by enlarging their
network of sports partners. |
|
| SportsKaki.com
was created by a sports enthusiast for sports enthusiasts.
Kevin Goh, the creator of SportsKaki.com, explains:
"Many individuals, regardless of the sport, face
difficulty in finding players who have similar skills
and abilities as well as the time to play. Having often
found it hard myself to find a sparring partner with
the same level of tennis playing experience, I decided
to create a community portal that would allow anyone
to keep his or her sporting interests alive."
SportsKaki.com was also created to address the problem
of declining participation of sportspersons in their
sport. According to a survey conducted by SportsKaki.com
with sports enthusiasts, 60 percent of the respondents
believe that their interests in their sport are kept
alive by regular participation with their regular "kakis".
Respondents also attributed the decline in sports participation
to the lack of sports partners over time.

For example,
an intermediate-level tennis player may wish to "Kaki-Up"
with a beginner, another intermediate player or an advanced
player. This engine caters to formal and informal sports
groups or teams like a school netball team, a social
weekend soccer team and/or a country club's badminton
team.
SportsKaki.com is a great resource for all levels (from
beginners to advanced level) and different sports (tennis,
soccer, netball, etc.). The community portal offers
free tournament listings, forums, message boards to
enable individuals and teams (formal or informal. e.g.
clubs, schools or social groups) to form their own sports
network. Members of SportsKaki.com can publish schedules,
statistics and participate in sports virtual forums.
Security
SportsKaki.com understands that as a service provider
holding important and private details of members, such
as email addresses, protecting its members' privacy
is top priority. The "Kaki-Up" engine that
powers the SportsKaki.com network and matchmaking web
service ensures that its members' personal details,
including email addresses, will not be revealed at any
time. Members who disclose or exchange their personal
information with one another do so on their own accord.
The "Kaki-Up" engine is designed to maintain
open communication lines between parties without compromising
on our members' privacy.
Beyond the Kaki'ing service
As part of its commitment to provide value-added services
to its members, SportsKaki.com provides articles and
other relevant content on skills development, sports
nutrition, sports psychology, etc. These featured articles
are the result of a collaboration with relevant sports
practitioners and/or professional academics in the field
of sports. Members will be able to share their views
on the sporting arena and other sports interests within
a virtual forum. Specialty forums, like sports psychology
virtual forum channels, are staffed and moderated by
resident advisors.
