In' tra net - n.
- a computer network connecting an affiliated
set of clients using standard internet protocols, esp. TCP/IP
and HTTP.
- an IP-based network of nodes behind
a firewall, or behind several firewalls connected by
secure, possibly virtual, networks.
Web-based Intranets are changing the way we work
in even a more radical way that the Internet did. By building
its own dedicated communication community of suppliers, clients,
employees, members, an organization can more securely distribute
information, operate transactions and create a stream of interactions
that improve project management, increase productivity. It
can also create a "sense of belonging" that can unleash creative
spirit and self-confidence of the community participants.
That's nice. But once again, such project required
planning and skills. That where Web Synergies can help. We
started by developing our own Intranet, and as the company
grows organically, our Intranet grows with us. Then, we developed
Intranet systems for Singapore government related organizations,
where technical and security requirements were very stringent.
